The Berkeley London designer afternoon tea, Prêt-à-Portea, collaborates with Jimmy Choo to serve desserts that resemble their handbags and shoes from October 13 to 19
The Berkeley, a luxury hotel located in London’s fashionable Knightsbridge, offers travellers from the Middle East a worthy excuse to extend their Eid Al Adha break by announcing its first-ever collaboration with British high fashion house Jimmy Choo to launch ‘Prêt-à-Portea – The Jimmy Choo Collection’, a week-long celebration of all things Jimmy Choo.
Since 2012, The Berkeley London designer afternoon tea, Prêt-à-Portea, has been hosted in The Caramel Room featuring a relaxing traditional English afternoon tea designed with a creative twist that is inspired by the fashion world in order to delight fashionistas. This year, from the 13th to the 19th of October, delectable cakes, pastries and biscuits will be transformed to resemble Jimmy Choo’s most stylish shoes, latest catwalk designs and iconic accessories, providing the ultimate ‘re-treat’ following the hustle and bustle of September’s many thrilling international fashion weeks.
“We are excited to have our Jimmy Choo collection immortalised by the Berkeley’s Prêt-à-Portea, which after nearly 10 years has become such a respected institution in the fashion world. I can’t wait to see our designs interpreted as edible delicacies!” commented Sandra Choi, Creative Director Jimmy Choo.
Head Pastry Chef Mourad Khiat commented, “We are excited to be working with Jimmy Choo on this exclusive edition of Prêt-à-Portea. Our Pastry Kitchen is currently filled with Jimmy Choo handbags and shoes to ensure we truly understand the luxurious feel of the materials, embellishments, prints and patterns. The craftsmanship of each item is exceptional, and we are eager to highlight this in our cakes.”
