Mr Nemo Acimovic, General Manager comments, “With a total of 9 outlets, the launch of Acropolis reflects our commitment of offering to our guests a varied choice of quality dining options at Le Méridien Village. Acropolis, Greek restaurant, will therefore distinguish ourselves in Abu Dhabi restaurants landscape.”

Acropolis Chef, Valsamis Konstantinos, is joining the Le Méridien Abu Dhabi team and has an extensive experience of over 10 years as a Chef in Athens, Crete, and recently Dubai. The Acropolis menu will feature a variety of mezze like psari, mezzedakia, spitiko tzatziki; main courses like gyros, mousaka, gemista; and delicious Greek desserts like siropiasta, karidopita and loukoumades. Executive Chef, Patrick Van Velzen, who worked and lived in Greece for more than 8 years, explains, “By importing the products straight from Greece, Acropolis is offering an authentic Greek convivial experience. We have collaborated a menu that is reflecting the friendliness and the generosity of the Greeks.” Acropolis would not be fully authentic without its Restaurant Manager, Anastasios Zafeirakis, who says, “I am very happy to be able to give a taste of home to the Greek community in the Emirates. I miss home and I am sure they do too. I want Acropolis to be a place that will connect people from around the world with our hospitality!”

Acropolis is replacing the Le Bistrot restaurant. The facility includes a spacious indoor and outdoor seating area facing the Centre Garden, a popular spot in the Capital. The blue and white decoration gives the right feel to the place. A live band coming straight from Greece will play traditional Greek music every evening. The restaurant will be open daily from 1 pm to midnight.

The grand opening will be celebrated on 19th September from 7 pm. The doors will be officially opened by H.E. Dionyssios Zois and Mr Nemo Acimovic. The inauguration will be celebrated by the traditional smashing of plates, bouzouki live music, mezze, Ouzo and Greek Mojitos – complimentary until 8 pm. The party will continue in the Centre Garden where visitors can order an array of authentic Greek food and dance the Greek way.
