Zheng He’s, the contemporary Chinese restaurant, will ring in the Year of the Monkey with a traditional oriental feast
Located in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, the venue will celebrate Chinese New Year from the 7 – 24 February with a celebratory New Year’s set menu and traditional live entertainment.
The Chinese New Year is the most important annual event in Chinese culture, giving people the opportunity to celebrate and spend quality time with their loved ones. Exquisite cuisine is integral to the New Year festivities, alongside glittering decorations, lanterns and the iconic ‘red packets’ which will be filled with special prizes and vouchers at the restaurant to mark this special occasion. The New Year’s jubilations will be celebrated in entirety from 8– 13 February with traditional live entertainment of Chinese dancers.
Guests will be welcomed with a traditional Chinese drink, following which they’re invited to “toss the Prosperity Yu Shang”, a ritual that goes back to ancient China where this traditional salad – comprising sashimi salmon tossed with pickled vegetables in plum dressing – is tossed in a toast to the new year. Seafood enthusiasts can also look forward to the Stir Fried Scottish Scallops with shrimps and macadamia nuts or the Steamed Cod
Fish Fillet, prepared with the freshest catch from the live tank in the restaurant. Other dishes on the menu includes the Roasted Chinese Spiced Chicken and Sizzling Wagyu. To conclude this celebratory experience, guests can enjoy a classic festive dessert, Nian Gao, pan fried Chinese glutinous rice cakes with egg. The Nian Gao is considered to bring good luck, promising prosperity for all guests in the year ahead.
The Chinese New Year will be offered to guests from 7 – 24 February at AED 350 per person, with a minimum order of two people. Key dishes are also available to order.
